On Friday, March 26 I attended ‘Dream Street’ – an annual dinner gala in support of The Charity of Hope, Hamilton.
The Charity of Hope is a non-profit organization that has supported less fortunate children, living in the Hamilton area, since 1999. What makes this company special, is that 100% of the funds raised through Charity of Hope, go to the children in need.
With their assistance being able to reach the troubled youth in less than 72 hours, this organization provides Hamilton children with more than hope, but also grants them a positive future.
The 2010 keynote speaker for the event was co-founder of Free The Children, Craig Kielburger.
Angered over an article he read in the Toronto Star, Keilburger began Free The Children at only 12 years old.
After its foundation in 1995, Free The Children has become one of the worlds largest, youth-driven charities. Along with brother Marc, the Kielburger duo have empowered thousands of youth across North America to take action, challenging a generation to make a positive change.
“Free The Children has built more than 500 schools throughout Asia, Africa and Latin America, providing daily education to more than 50, 000 children.”
Kielburger is also the Director and Co-Founder of Me to We.
Listening to this amazing speaker, you can’t help but become inspired.
What good have I done over the last 20 years?
Be a catalyst of positive change.
